Single Review: Reigning Days – Empire

If Reigning Days success is as big as their sound then the Devonshire three-piece are set for frighteningly massive things.

Their new self-titled EP is on the way on June 3rd and the latest track to be taken from that record is Empire. Straight from the off you’re surrounded by crashing monster riffs before striping back slightly for the opening verse, and then the chorus hits… and my God when I say it hits, I mean it takes your damn face off. Everything about this track just works, huge drums, huge guitars and great vocals. This tune is unbelievably good.

There’s a whiff of Royal Blood about the trio but they are far from a copycat band. It feels like these guys have set out to make a statement with their new music and Empire does just that. The band have got a load of festival appearances in the diary for the rest of the year including Download in June and I will be heading over to watch them play without a doubt.

Reigning Days aren’t just knocking on the door of the big time they look set to blow the thing wide open.

You can see the band live at the following dates:

April 30th – Live At Leeds Festival, Leeds

May 9th – BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend Academy Showcase @ Pavilions, Teignmouth

May 19th – The Great Escape, Brighton

May 27th – Dot To Dot Festival, Manchester
