Single Review: The Sherlocks – Last Night

Like seemingly everyone else in Britain I am currently riding shotgun on The Sherlocks bandwagon. I have featured the band on the site before and basically they are mustard.

Their first single Live For The Moment charted at number 91 on the Official UK Singles Chart, their second Escapade charted at number 45 while their last single Heart Of Gold received airplay on Radio 1 and 6 Music. Oh and they have sold out over 300 venues nationwide and recently toured with The Libertines.

The best thing about The Sherlocks however, is that they have the songs to back up the hype. I am honestly yet to hear a bad tune from them. Last Night is the Sheffield boys new single (Released today) and it’s yet another brilliant slice of British Indie-rock. It’s slick, it’s catchy and the little guitar melody will get stuck in your head. Listening to this band and watching them grow you can’t help but feel like they are one of us, a group of ‘our lads’ are hitting the mainstream and taking on the world. They make music which is relatable to your man/woman/child on the street and do it in a way which instantly catches your ear. I’m backing them all the way.

The band have already got a monster list of live dates in the diary for this year which shouldn’t come as a surprise as drummer Brandon says;

“Hard work is what we are all about. We love playing live; we will play anywhere we can. We just want to get our music out there and see the reaction of the fans.”
