Single Review: Nycosia – Miscommunication

I think the biggest compliment that I can probably pay Nycosia right off the bat is that track is a load heavier than the stuff I’m normally into but I’m still digging it. Generally speaking I’m not a fan of the thick screaming vocal but this track has managed to pull me in regardless.

Hailing from Hereford the aforementioned Nycosia are Adam Barkley (Vocals) Billy Kibble (Guitar) Theo Beech (Bass) and Noah Plant (Drums). Miscommunication is the lead single from the band’s upcoming debut EP Pariah which is set for a 25th February release.

The track itself just straight up bangs. I could try and come up with something more poetic but there really is no point as that sentence tells you all you need to know. There’s a rawness to the track, it has this untamed energy which shakes you to your bones .The short mellower moments contrast nicely against the initial barrage but for the most part the track is just thunderous.

As I said at the outset this kind of track normally isn’t my thing in the slightest but there’s something about Miscommunication that you just can’t ignore.

To coincide with the release of the new EP the band will be playing a special launch show at the Hereford College of Arts also on the 25th February. The band have also got a whole host of other live shows lined up across the country and you can find out more info by checking out the band on social media.
