Coming out of Nottingham Fahran (pronounced like the first half of the word Fahrenheit) are Matt Black, Jake Graham, Joshua Ballantyne, Chris Byrne and Josh Fahran.
They have previously appeared at the likes of Bloodstock, Download Festival, Hard Rock Hell, Isle of Mann TT races as well as touring with bands such as Heaven’s Basement.
The band’s latest single A Thousand Nights is taken from their current album Chasing Hours and I like it a hell of a lot.
There’s plenty of room for that style of ostentatious and over-exuberant rock and metal in the world but I always end up coming back to the music in its simplest form. A Thousand Nights is a song without gimmickry or illusions of grandeur; it’s just a badass hard rock song. The drums kick like a mule, the main riff is catchy as hell and the vocal is packed with more energy than a hyperactive 5-year old after a Smarties binge. The guitar solo is 20 seconds of scorching brilliance and when that’s mixed in with all of those things which i’ve already mentioned you’re left with a fantastic slice of rock music.
