Single Review: Ben Abraham – You And Me (New Video Included)

When you’ve got Zane Lowe premiering your new single and waxing lyrical about your ability as a singer/songwriter it’s safe to say that you’re doing something right.

Melbourne native Ben Abraham debuted his current single You And Me with Lowe only last week and having had the track and video drop into my inbox I am in agreement with the Beats 1 figurehead. Ben Abraham is a talent, simple as that.

Recently signed to Secretly Canadian and with debut album Sirens set to be released on 4th March the future is looking extremely bright for Abraham. You And Me is a beautiful piece of song writing, if you don’t get pulled in by those lyrics and begin reminiscing about the love of days past then you must have a heart of stone.

The ‘Oh Yeah Wow’ directed video is equally stunning, something which Abraham is unsurprisingly very proud:

“I jumped at the chance to work with Oh Yeah Wow because Darcy, Josh and the OYW team have consistently released some of the most visually inventive and beautiful Australian music videos I’ve seen. I knew working with this crazy team of visionaries would produce something truly special—which feels important as our lives become more saturated with mindless video content. They somehow managed to capture the intimacy, scope and melancholy of the song and I’m really excited for people to see that breathtaking final shot.”

I love this song, I love this video and I’m unashamed to say that Abraham has got me well and truly under his spell. This song has just connected with me, and I’m sure that I’m not the only one.

The world is going to be hearing a lot more from this man in 2016 so get on board the bandwagon early.

You belong to you and me that was how it was supposed to be. How can I stop loving you when my heart keeps on telling me to?
