It’s pretty scary to say that I officially been in this game now for just over a year. To say that the time has flown by wouldn’t even get close to doing this past 12 months justice. As a result there are now a few bands that have been on the radar for a while now and watching them grow and develop has been awesome, and these guys are one of those bands.
Junebug have already released one single this year, that was Wild back in January and now they have another new track with all roads leading towards the release of a new EP in the summer. Like many bands they have taken the decision to try and crowd source some funds for the project and have set up an indigogo campaign. (The link for which you will find below) As of time of writing the band are 84% towards their total with 5 days of fundraising remaining. The money raised will go towards recording and general studio time as well as CD printing and distribution when the record is finished. So if you like what you find here go and hit that link and see if you can do your bit to help the EP come to fruition.
Until the as yet untitled planned EP sees the light of day however we have the small matter of this new track Your Flame. The band has been playing it out live for a little bit so it’s not totally brand new, but it’s absolutely classic Junebug. If you are already a fan of the band then this tune will be right up your street. The vocal from Martin hits all of the right notes as ever, the drums skip along fleet of foot like a teacher walking out of school for the Easter holiday and the understated guitar melody glides around weaving in and out of the songs summery rhythm. I’m not trying to sell you something here I’m just calling it as I see it, and these guys from Glasgow keep producing quality track after quality track.
Kind of light, kind of summery but as ever Junebug here are brilliant. Listen to the track below and get checking that indigogo campaign.
