Single Review: Puppet Rebellion – Watch Me Fall

‘Puppet Rebellion’ is a name that I have seen kicking around for quite a while now but if I’m being honest I never really acted on my curiosity. As a result when I got sent this track the name in the title of the email was instantly recognisable but I couldn’t have named you even one tune.  And not for the first time in my life my laziness has let me down; it appears that I have been seriously missing out.

Coming straight outta Manchester (No NWA) Puppet Rebellion are Oliver Davies (Vocals) Paul Trochowski (Guitar) Craig Gibson (Guitar) James Halliwell (Bass) and Danny Moss. (Drums) The band formed back in January 2013 and have gone from strength to strength ever since.

Watch Me Fall is the band’s latest offering and frankly it’s an absolute beauty.  Two and a half minutes of slick, smooth and melodic Indie straight from the top drawer. A strong bassline hums along while a glorious guitar led melody dances above. I’m a big fan of the vocal from Davies, purely because he doesn’t overcomplicate things, it’s simple and to the point, devoid of any pointless posturing the kind of which I dislike so much.  It’s a catchy tune without a doubt and because of its shortness it’s never in danger of overstaying its welcome.

I honestly can’t pick fault with track, it’s fantastic. This is the kind of tune which with a little bit of luck could see the band racing up the musical ladder to stardom. Puppet Rebellion are a band on the rise. Watch Me Fall is out now and I absolutely love it.
