Single Review: Shortside Avenue – El Futero (WORLD EXCLUSIVE 1ST REVIEW)

The more observant amongst you may remember that a couple of months ago I reviewed the latest single from a band called Shortside Avenue… Well as a result of what has been a pretty cool turn of events I can officially bring you the world exclusive first review of their brand new tune El Futero.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the band already, they are a 5 piece pop/rock band from Newcastle. Sound-wise if you like bands like You Me At Six and All Time Low (You know the kind of thing I’m talking about) then this is the band for you.

I was told when I was sent this track that it was better than their last single and I have to say that it’s pretty difficult to argue with that statement. El Futero is an absolute anthem. Don’t get me wrong I liked the bands last single Tweaker but I felt that it was solid rather than spectacular, there was something missing which stopped the track really being top drawer, but whatever it was that was missing a few months ago has been well and truly found now.

From the rolling drums in the intro to the soaring chorus El Futero hits all of the right notes. This band have found their lane and now they are setting about conquering it. The main vocal is backed up throughout by the enthusiastic shouts and screams from the rest of the band. Crises of;

Give them hell and We’ll scream and shout from the top of our lungs.

Give you an idea of what this track is all about. There’s even a short heavier section towards the end to just hammer home even further the whole attitude of this tune.

El Futero would sound great on the radio and even better live and frankly for a single you can’t ask for much more than that. The bands aren’t trying to overcomplicate things or produce anything too deep and meaningful, Shortside Avenue make anthems plain and simple; and this is another one.

El Futero is out now

    Really looking forward to hearing the song!
    Without actually hearing the song the review sounds like any other generic song review.
    We will find out good the review actually is when we hear the song.
